How To Remove Cat Odor

You can have the best odor removing litter in the world, but it won't help if you cat has an accident.

And not matter what you've tried, you're probably frustrated by the fact that the smell of cat urine is almost impossible to remove. It just sort of lingers, refusing to do away. Most people believe there is just no simple way to remove cat odor.

Fortunately, most cats do not have the problem of going outside their litter box, but some do. Take for example a cat with a medical condition. It's more common than you think. And no one wants to give up a beloved otherwise healthy pet because of some non life threatening condition. So what do you do?

The truth is there are a number of homemade remedies out there, but very few of them are effective. And you can try soaking you couch cushion or bed spread in any number of detergents only to wind up disappointed with the results. We've know people that have even discarded furniture because they could not get rid of the smell. That's taking this to the extreme.

So what do you do to remove cat odor. Well the first thing is to begin the removal process immediately. The longer it sets, the harder it will be to get rid of the smell. And if it becomes fully set in the fabric, you'll have only two options. You can either get rid of the fabric or live with the smell. Neither option is very good. However if you're able to attack the problem within the first hour your odds of getting rid of the smell go up tremendously. If the accident happens when you are at work and you don't find it until you get home, then the odds are not good, no matter what product you use.

And yes there are products designed specifically to get rid of cat odors. Most of them simply aren't worth it. We've found two that are. One is by Nature's Miracle, the other is Microbe Clean. Check them both out below. Some people even report success days after the accident. We've never waited that long, but believe it's highly unlikely. But we have had great success with both if we use the product as soon as the mess is discovered.
