Organic Flushable Cat Litter - A Healthy, Convenient Alternative

Flushable cat litter is one of those products that had people all over the world wondering why they didn't think of it first. It's such a simple concept and makes so much sense, cat lovers everywhere no doubt had been wishing for something like it for years. And the bottom line is that is a perfect alternative to the traditional clay litters.

You know the ones. Traditional litters require you collecting the litter and waste into a plastic trash bag, and then taking it out to the trash can to be thrown away. A minor inconvenience to some, a pain in the rear to others. But even if you don't think it's much of a problem to take the litter out with the trash, flushable cat litter provides many other benefits.

In most cases, flushable cat litter is biodegradable. Not so with your standard clay litter. If you are at all concerned about the environment, this will matter to you. Taking that one step farther, some flushable cat litters are made from totally organic materials. It is not uncommon to find wheat as one of the main ingredients in these organic litters. The end result is that this litter degrades naturally and fairly quickly. Traditional non organic litters will take years to degrade.

And as we've mentioned in other articles, the dust from clay cat litters can cause respiratory problems in cats. This dust will cause coughing and wheezing when it gets into your pet's lungs. But you will have no such problems with organic flushable cat litters. You will have a more healthy cat. And since most cat owners would do anything to keep them away from harm, an organic flushable cat litter simply makes great sense.
